Description
1988-89 Gino Cavallini St. Louis Blues Game Worn Jersey – “8” – “DK”
Lot #80

This home white air knit gamer by CCM was worn by Gino Cavallini during the 1988-89 NHL season. After playing his college hockey at Bowling Green State University, this winger signed a free agent deal with the Calgary Flames and began his NHL career in 1984-85. During the following season, Gino was dealt to the St. Louis Blues in exchange for Joe Mullen among others. He would spend parts of 7 seasons with the Blues before playing in Quebec for parts of two more. All told this Toronto native spent 9 seasons in the NHL.

Proudly sewn to the left breast of this gamer is the alternate Captain’s “A”. Sewn to the left shoulder is the Barclay Plager “8” patch to commemorate the passing of the St. Louis Blues legend. Sewn to the right shoulder is the Dan Kelly “DK” patch to commemorate the passing of the legendary broadcaster. The game wear on this sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, washed out bloodstains, a stitch popped front collar, material pulls, inner pilling and nearly 20 team-sewn repairs. A fantastic double patched offering complete with letter of honor that features terrific game use.
