1988-89 Donald Dufresne Sherbrooke Canadiens Game Worn Jersey - Career Best 170 PIMS
Lot #259

This home white knit gamer by CCM was worn by Donald Dufesne during the 1988-89 AHL season. The Montreal Canadiens selected Dufresne in the 6th round of the 1985 NHL Entry Draft. Dufresne made his NHL debut with Montreal in 1988-89 and played for parts of 5 seasons with the club, winning the Stanley Cup in his final year with the team. Donald went on to play for the Los Angeles Kings, Tampa Bay Lightning, St. Louis Blues and Edmonton Oilers before calling it quits on a 9-year NHL career.

The game wear on this sweater consists of stick marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, a well-salted fight strap, inner pilling and a couple of team-sewn repairs. As was customary for the era, Sherbrooke would oftentimes strip the nameplates for reuse before replacing it when readying the sets for sale. Dufresne played in 47 games with Sherbrooke in 1988-89 while compiling a career best 170 PIMS while wearing this sweater on home ice! A nice offering from the beginning of this Stanley Cup Champion’s professional career.
