Description
1988-89 Dino Ciccarelli Minnesota North Stars Game Worn Jersey
Lot #5
This home white air-knit gamer by CCM and Team Choice was worn by Dino Ciccarelli during the 1988-89 NHL season. This Sarnia native made his NHL debut in 1980-81 with the Minnesota North Stars. Dino was a mid-season call up and played in 32 regular season contests scoring 18 goals and 30 points. The spark he supplied helped propel the North Stars to the Stanley Cup Finals where they eventually fell to the New York Islanders Dynasty. In 19 playoff games as a rookie, Dino lit the lamp 14 times and totaled 21 points to set an NHL rookie playoff scoring record. The very next season Dino scored a career best and franchise record 55 Goals helping pave the way towards a Hall of Fame career. Ciccarelli spent 9 seasons with the North Stars before moving on to represent the Capitals, Red Wings, Lightning and Panthers. Over the course of 19 NHL seasons, this gritty RW scored 608 Goals and 1200 Points. Dino was a four-time NHL All Star who was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame with the class of 2010.

This jersey has been custom shortened for Ciccarelli by the team. Custom sleeve inserts were also added for Dino by the club. The game wear on this sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, stitch pops, washed out bloodstains, piling at the sleeve cuffs, heavy inner pilling and more than a dozen team-sewn repairs. Dino was dealt to the Capitals in exchange for Mike Gartner at the deadline in 1989, meaning this may have been Ciccarelli’s last North Stars jersey. Worn by this 600-Goal scorer, this heavily customized example features solid game use and would make a tremendous addition to any Hall of Fame collection, choice!
