Description
1988-89 Darcy Wakaluk Buffalo Sabres Game Worn Jersey Rookie
Lot #59
This road blue knit gamer by CCM was worn by Darcy Wakaluk during the 1988-89 NHL season, his rookie year. The Buffalo Sabres selected Wakaluk in the 7th round of the 1984 NHL Entry Draft. This Pincher Creek, Alberta born goalie made his NHL debut in 1988-89 with Buffalo where he tended goal for a couple of seasons before joining the Minnesota North Stars in 1991-92. Darcy spent 5 years with the Stars franchise, transferring to Dallas in 1993-94 and played a final year with the Phoenix Coyotes in 1996-97 before hanging up the skates. Since leaving the ice, Wakaluk has spent much of the past decade as the WHL’s Calgary Hitmen Goalie Coach.

Wakaluk played in 6 games with the Sabres during his rookie season. The game wear on this size 54 goalie cut sweater is consistent with Darcy’s call-up and consists of stick and puck marks and some light pilling. A nice old-school blue and gold worn by Wakaluk during his rookie NHL season.
