Description
1988-89 Christian Ruuttu Buffalo Sabres Game Worn Jersey
Lot #92
This road blue knit gamer by CCM was worn by Christian Ruuttu during the 1988-89 NHL season. The Buffalo Sabres selected Ruuttu in the 7th round of the 1983 NHL Entry Draft. After spending a handful of seasons in his native Finland, Ruuttu began his NHL career with the Sabres in 1986-87. He would spend 6 years in Buffalo before joining the Chicago Blackhawks in 1992-93. Ruuttu spent parts of 3 seasons with the Hawks and another partial year in Vancouver before heading back to Europe to finish his career. Ruuttu represented the Sabres in the 1988 NHL All Star game. He played in numerous World Championships for Finland in addition to the 1996 World Cup of Hockey and the 1987 and 1991 Canada Cups.

The game wear on this vintage blue and gold consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, an un-repaired skate slice, stitch pops and inner pilling. A nice old school Sabres example of a player whose Buffalo game jerseys don’t often show up in the hobby.
