1988-89 Bob Bassen/Wayne McBean Game Worn Jersey & 1991-92 Tom Kurvers York Islanders Pre-Season Game Worn Jersey
Lot #64

This home white air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Bob Bassen and or Wayne McBean during the 1988-89 NHL season. The jersey was later recycled for use by Tom Kurvers during the 1991-92 NHL preseason.

Bob Bassen made his NHL debut in 1985-86 with the New York Islanders where he played for the first four years of his 15-year NHL career. Bassen also played for the Chicago Blackhawks, St. Louis Blues, Quebec Nordiques, Dallas Stars and Calgary Flames. The Los Angeles Kings selected Wayne McBean with the 4th overall pick in the 1987 NHL Entry Draft. McBean’s NHL career spanned 6 seasons where he played for the LA Kings, NY Islanders and Winnipeg Jets.

The Montreal Canadiens selected Tom Kurvers in the 7th round of the 1981 NHL Entry Draft. This Minneapolis, MN native played his decorated college career at the University of Minnesota-Duluth before making his NHL debut in 1984-85 with the Montreal Canadiens. Kurvers spent a couple of years with the Canadiens and won the Stanley Cup in 1986 before moving on to play for the Buffalo Sabres, New Jersey Devils, Toronto Maple Leafs, Vancouver Canucks, New York Islanders and the Anaheim Mighty Ducks. Following an 11-year NHL career, Kurvers retired with an impressive 421 points in 659 games played from the point.

The game wear on this sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes and inner pilling. A nice example donned by a couple or three NHLers.
