1987 Moe Mantha Team USA Canada Cup Pre-Tournament Game Worn Jersey
Lot #109

This blue knit gamer by CCM was likely worn by Moe Mantha during the 1987 Canada Cup pre-tournament. The Winnipeg Jets selected Mantha in the 2nd round of the 1980 NHL Entry Draft. This Lakewood, OH native made his NHL debut with the Jets in 1980-81. Following 4 seasons in Winnipeg, Matha suited up for the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Edmonton Oilers, Minnesota North Stars, Philadelphia Flyers and made a 3-year return visit to Winnipeg. All told this talented offensive minded defenseman played in 656 games over the course of 12 NHL seasons. Since retiring, Mantha has spent much of the past quarter century working as a Head Coach across various leagues including the ECHL, AHL, NAHL and OHL.

The game wear on this size 54 sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, exterior sleeve cuff pilling and fine inner pilling. A nice offering that dates to the prime of Mantha’s career while he shared the NHL ice with Mario and Co. in the Steel City. This fresh to the hobby example would make a great addition to any collection of Team USA gamers.
