GAMEWORNAUCTIONS.NET is pleased to present The Michel Goulet Collection. This exciting collection of game worn jerseys, game used sticks, game worn equipment and memorabilia come directly from the personal collection of Hockey Hall of Famer, Michel Goulet. Mr. Goulet personally collected and preserved these items over the course of his legendary NHL career. A signed letter from Mr. Goulet will accompany your purchase.

This white air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Michel Goulet during the 1987 Canada Cup. The Quebec Nordiques selected Goulet in the 1st round of the 1979 NHL Entry Draft. This Quebec native made his professional debut in 1978-79 with the WHA’s Birmingham Bulls. When NHL expansion ensued the following year, Goulet made his NHL debut in 1979-80 with the Quebec Nordiques.

Goulet was among the finest Left Wingers of his generation, and in NHL history for that matter. He netted a spectacular 548 goals and 1152 points during a 15-year NHL career. Michel’s goal totals from the period of 1981-82 thru 1987-88 is an impressive read; 42, 57, 56, 55, 53, 49 and 48 respectively. He was a five-time 1st or 2nd Team NHL All Star who also played in five NHL All Star Games. Goulet represented Team Canada during the World Championships, the 1984 and 1987 Canada Cup and also represented Team NHL during Rendezvous ’87. Following 11 seasons with the Nordiques, Goulet joined the Chicago Blackhawks and soon after led them on an epic run to the 1992 Stanley Cup Finals. Merely two seasons later, Michel suffered a vicious head injury during the latter stages of the 1993-94 season, putting a sudden end to his Hall of Fame career.

Sewn to the right breast of this gamer is the Labatt Coupe Canada Cup patch. The game wear on this size 52 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, plenty of board paint transfer from the Montreal Forum, un-repaired burn holes, trauma and inner pilling. Shown above is a beautiful photo match of Goulet wearing this exact jersey during the 1987 Canada Cup. Team Canada wore this set of white sweaters as they went to battle to defend their title from 1984. These white sweaters were worn throughout the tournament including during the epic final game as Team Canada defeated the Soviet Union on a Mario Lemieux Goal with just over a minute remaining. Goulet played in 8 tournament games, scoring a pair of goals and assisting on three others as Team Canada went on to defeat the Russian machine in a thrilling three-game Final Series. Team Canada’s white set of jerseys were worn in the Championship game and were notably taken home by the players. Revered by collectors, this is one of a scant few white game worn jerseys to ever appear at Major Auction. A tremendous patched and photo matched example, worn by this Hall of Famer as Team Canada defended their best in the world status. This fresh to the hobby example comes directly from the personal collection of Michel Goulet and will be accompanied by his signed LOA, choice!
