Description
1987 Bob Rouse Minnesota North Stars Game Worn Jersey - "JM"
Lot #439
This home white mesh gamer by CCM and Steichens was worn by Bob Rouse during the 1987 NHL season. The Minnesota North Stars selected Rouse in the 4th round of the 1982 NHL Entry Draft. Rouse spent parts of 6 seasons wearing the green and gold before joining the Washington Capitals at the deadline in 1988-89. After a few years in Washington, Rouse spent several more with the Leafs, where he took part in the team’s exciting runs to the Conference Finals in 1993 and 1994. Bob then joined the Detroit Red Wings where he played for 4 seasons, going to 3 Stanley Cup Finals and walking away with 2 Stanley Cup rings. Rouse finished his career with 2 years in San Jose. All told this defenseman played in 1061 games and accumulated 1559 PIMS over the course of a 17-year NHL career.

Sewn to the right breast of this gamer is the ‘JM’ patch to honor the passing of Hockey Hall of Famer and the “Godfather of Minnesota Hockey”, John Mariucci. The game wear on this sweater consists of stick marks, board burns, board paint transfer, stitch pops and areas of heavy inner pilling. The 1986-87 season saw Rouse compile a career high with 179 PIMS. He followed that up in 1987-88 with his 2nd highest single season total of 168 PIMS, all circa the era he wore this jersey. A nice example with a meaningful patch to the North Stars faithful.
