Description
1987-91 Pavel Bure Central Red Army Game Worn Jersey
Lot #71

This home white mesh gamer was worn by Pavel Bure during his time with the Central Red Army circa 1987-88 thru 1990-91. The Russian Rocket broke onto the NHL scene in Vancouver with a bang, winning the Calder Trophy as rookie of the year for his performance during the 1991-92 NHL season. In his 2nd season Bure scored 60 goals and 110 points letting the hockey world know he was no fluke. The following year Pavel again lit the lamp 60 times, totaling 107 points as he led his upstart Canucks to the Cup Finals where they fell at the hands of the NY Rangers.

In 24 playoff games, which culminated in a game 7 in the Finals, Pavel tabbed 31 points. After another 50-goal season in 1997-98 and a trip to the Olympics, Pavel decided he wanted out of Vancouver and demanded a trade. Finally the Florida Panthers agreed to a deal and Pavel notched 13 goals in 11 games that year in the Sunshine State. Bure seemed happy in the Florida sun, tabbing 58 and 59 goal seasons but it didn’t last long.

After the 2002 Olympics, and before the trading deadline in 2001-02, Bure was dealt to the Big Apple. He would finish his career on Broadway, with the Rangers, scoring goals at a prolific pace but missing the majority of both seasons in New York due to injury. In 702 career games, Bure tallied 437 goals and 779 points. Bure won the Rocket Richard Trophy for most goals in both 2000 and 2001. He was 3-times a 1st or 2nd Team NHL All Star and played in 6 NHL All Star games in a career that, unfortunately for us fans, lasted only a dozen years.

This amazing pre-rookie jersey was worn by Pavel as he was honing his craft in his native Russia between the ages of 16 and 20. Game use exists consisting of stick and slash marks, board burns, washed out bloodstains and inner pilling. An exciting pre-rookie offering worn by this former 2-time Rocket Richard Trophy winner.
