Description
1987-88 Trent Kaese Buffalo Sabres Pre-Season Game Worn Jersey
Lot #46
This road blue knit gamer by CCM was worn by Trent Kaese circa the 1987 and/or 1988 NHL preseason. The Buffalo Sabres selected Kaese in the 8th round of the 1985 NHL Entry Draft. After playing his junior hockey alongside Hall of Fame teammate Joe Sakic in the WHL, Kaese made his professional debut in the IHL in 1986-87. Trent played minor pro for a total of five seasons while also venturing to Europe where he became a star in England over the course of his five-year stay. Kaese played in a single NHL game during his career. After The Buffalo Sabres suffered injuries to several players including Rick Vaive, Ray Sheppard, Kevin Maguire and Jeff Parker, they called up Kaese from Rochester on March 25, 1989. He flew into Quebec City for the Sabres game against the Nordiques and led the Sabres in shots on goal with five but failed to light the lamp.

Sewn into the collar of this gamer is the born on tagging 86-07. The game wear on this sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, un-repaired burn holes and inner pilling. Some loose stitching to the lower right corner of the plate is also worthy of mention. A nice pre-rookie example from this winger’s brief time in the NHL.
