1987-88 Tim Kerr Flyers Game Worn Jersey
Lot #36

This home white knit gamer by CCM was worn by Tim Kerr during the 1987-88 NHL season. Kerr took up residence in the slot in Philadelphia and seemingly remained there through the entire decade of the 1980’s where he wreaked havoc on opposing goaltenders. Tim became a Philadelphia Flyer in 1980 and remained with the club through the 1990-91 season. Were it not for injury, Tim would certainly be a 500-goal scorer and a member of the Hall of Fame.

After missing the majority of the 1982-83 season due to a knee injury, Tim ran off successive 50-goal season totals of 54, 54, 58 and 58 from 1983-84 thru 1986-87. A shoulder injury that required surgery severely shortened his 1987-88 campaign. He was back to his old form the following year as he tabbed another 48 goals in less than a full season. He never played more than a 40 game schedule the remainder of his career and finished with an impressive 370 goals and 674 points in 655 games played. Tim was a major part of the Flyers Stanley Cup Finals teams of 1985 and 1987. He was a 2nd team NHL All Star in 1987 and played in 3 NHL All Star games during the mid 1980’s. Tim was the 1989 recipient of the Bill Masterton trophy for the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey.

The game wear on this CCM knit consists of stick marks, many board burns, board paint transfer and nice inner pilling. This gamer is from the only set of CCM knits that the Flyers wore during the decade of the 1980’s. This set of jerseys was placed into service late during the 1987-88 campaign, which makes this the only home gamer that Tim would have worn during that injury shortened season. This is a tough style to acquire and is a great representation of such, worn by one of the decade’s best goal scorers.
