Description
1987-88 Ron Greschner New York Rangers Game Worn Jersey
Lot #46
This home white mesh gamer by CCM and Cosby was worn by Ron Greschner during the 1987-88 NHL season. The New York Rangers selected Greschner in the 2nd round of the 1974 NHL Amateur Draft. He began his NHL career with the Rangers in 1974-75 and was an instant standout on the New York blueline. In fact, Greschner spent his entire 16-year NHL career with the Broadway Blueshirts. Greschner was an adept offensive minded defenseman who netted 20+ goals four times over the course of his career, with a single season best total of 27 coming in 1980-81. In 1979, Ron served as a Challenge Cup alternate for the series against the Soviet Union and then helped the Rangers to the Cup Finals later that season. He played in his only NHL All Star game in 1980. Greschner would go on to serve as the Rangers Team Captain, remains one of the most beloved players of his era, and was ranked 12th on the all-time list of New York Rangers in the 2009 book “100 Rangers Greats”.

Sewn into the collar of this gamer are the Cosby and CCM tagging. The Cosby logo is also screened to the rear left tail. The game wear on this size 58 sweater is on the lighter side and consists of stick marks and inner pilling. On the left breast of this jersey is a black sharpie signature in Greschner’s own hand. An opportunity to land a jersey worn by one of the New York Rangers all-time greats.
