This road red knit gamer by CCM and Eastside was worn by Jim Nill during the 1987-88 NHL season. The St. Louis Blues selected Nill in the 6th round of the 1978 NHL Amateur Draft. After spending time with the Canadian National Team, this Hanna, ALTA native made his NHL debut in 1981-82 with the Blues. A deadline deal during his rookie season sent Nill to Vancouver and proved to be a blessing for this forward as he trekked all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals. Nill’s NHL career spanned 9 seasons that saw him represent the Blues, Canucks, Bruins, Jets and Red Wings. Not afraid to mix things up, Nill accumulated 854 PIMs in 524 games played. Even more impressive are his 203 PIMS in 59 playoff games.
The game wear on this sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, stitch pops at the elbow and front collar and inner pilling. Shown above is a beautiful photo match of Nill wearing this exact jersey during the 1987-88 season. A well-worn photo matched offering from this tough guy’s first season in the Motor City.
