This road blue air-knit gamer by CCM and Syosset Sports was worn by Jeff Finley during the 1987-88 NHL season, his rookie year. The New York Islanders selected Finley in the 3rd round of the 1985 NHL Entry Draft. After spending 4 years with the Portland Winter Hawks, Finley joined the Islanders organization. He spent the next 5 years splitting his time between the Islanders and their AHL affiliate. After leaving the Islanders, Finley spent a year in Philadelphia, 2 more with Winnipeg/Phoenix, a year with the Rangers and then 6 seasons with the St. Louis Blues. All told this rearguard spent 15 seasons roaming the NHL bluelines.
The game wear on this vintage rookie sweater consists of stick marks, board burns, board paint transfer and inner pilling. A short-lived old school Islanders style that features the embroidered Syosset Sports on the rear hem and was donned by this 15-year veteran during his rookie season.
