Description
1987-88 Gord Donnelly Quebec Nordiques Game Worn Jersey - 301 PIMS
Lot #67
This road blue knit gamer by CCM was worn by Gord Donnelly during the 1987-88 NHL season. The St. Louis Blues selected Donnelly in the 3rd round of the 1981 NHL Entry Draft. Gord began his NHL career with the Quebec Nordiques in 1983-84 and remained with the club for parts of 6 seasons before a deal sent him to the Winnipeg Jets in 1988-89. Donnelly went on to play in Winnipeg for parts of 4 years, spent parts of 3 more in Buffalo and then finished his NHL career with parts of two seasons in Dallas. After leaving the NHL, Gord spent a few years in the IHL and then played in Austria for a few seasons. This rough and tumble character played in 554 NHL games during which time he amassed 2069 PIMS! He twice eclipsed the 300 PIMS mark, in 1987-88 with the Nordiques and again in 1991-92 with Winnipeg and Buffalo.

The game wear on this sweater is solid and consists of stick marks, board burns, washed out bloodstains, a salted fight strap, gobs upon gobs of inner pilling and a few team sewn repairs, including a re-sew to the back collar which was undoubtedly torn by the hands of an angry opponent. A terrific well-worn enforcers jersey from a 301 PIMS season.
