1987-88 Brett Barnett Lake Superior State Game Worn Jersey 1st National Championship
Lot #434
This road blue mesh gamer by Melville was worn by Brett Barnett during the 1987-88 CCHA Championship winning season. The New York Rangers selected Barnett in the 10th round of the 1987 NHL Entry Draft. This Toronto native played his college hockey at Lake Superior State and won a National Championship as a freshman. Barnett made his minor-pro debut in 1989-90 with the Kalamazoo Wings. Brett then spent a few seasons in the ECHL before finishing up his career over 6 seasons in the OHASr league.

The game wear on this size 44 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes and seam trauma, stitch pops, inner pilling and team-sewn repair work. Barnett was a tough guy who amassed 228 PIMS in 74 collegiate games played. Worn as a freshman during the Lakers first National Championship winning season, Barnett scored 16 goals and added 23 assists for 39 points to go along with 124 PIMS in 44 games played.
