This home white knit gamer by CCM was worn by Ted Fauss during the 1986-87 NHL season, his rookie year. This Clinton, NY native spent four years at Clarkson University before embarking on a professional career that began in 1982-83 when he signed with the Montreal Canadiens organization. Fauss played in the AHL with Nova Scotia and Sherbrooke where he won the Calder Trophy in 1985 before signing on with the Toronto Maple Leafs and playing for the Newmarket Saints beginning in 1986. During his time with the Saints, the Maple Leafs called-up Fauss for a total of 28 NHL games over the course of two seasons. Ted joined the Whalers organization and suited up for Binghamton in 1988-89 to finish up his AHL career. After retirement, Fauss found his way into the coaching profession and spent more than a decade behind the benches of Hamilton College and SUNY-Morrisville.
Sewn to the right shoulder of this gamer is the Heart and Stroke patch. Sewn to the left shoulder is the King Clancy patch. The game wear on this sweater consists of stick marks, board burns, board paint transfer, material pulls, inner pilling and a team-sewn repair. The original heavily reinforced fight strap is sewn to the inner verso just beneath the back player number. The nameplate and both patches are completely original to the jersey. The Heart and Stroke and King Clancy patch combination was worn by the Leafs during just the second half of the 1986-87 season and has proven to be a tough get for collectors through the years. A nice two-patched example worn by Fauss during his rookie season.
