1986-87 Rudy Poeschek Kamloops Blazers Game Worn Jersey
Lot #261

This home white mesh gamer by Alpha was worn by Rudy Poeschek during the 1986-87 WHL season, his last year of Junior hockey. The New York Rangers selected Poeschek in the 12th round of the 1985 NHL Entry Draft. This crease clearing tough guy made his NHL debut in 1987-88 with the Rangers where he skated for three seasons. Poeschek played a total of 12 NHL seasons, representing the Rangers, Jets, Lightning and the Blues. In 364 games played, this enforcer racked up 817 PIMS.

Sewn to the rear hem of this gamer is the sponsorship patch. The game wear on this sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, heavy amounts of washed-out bloodstaining, fight abuse with trauma to the front neckline which was torn and subsequently repaired along with additional team-sewn repair work to both sleeves. A coin and lace fight strap was Poeschek’s preference back in the day, with the original coin still firmly in place in the verso of this vintage Juniors jersey. A terrific, hammered enforcer’s jersey from this 12-year NHL veteran’s last year of Junior hockey.
