Description
1986-87 John Ogrodnick Quebec Nordiques Game Worn Jersey - "Rendezvous 87"
Lot #270
This home white knit gamer by CCM was worn by John Ogrodnick during the 1986-87 NHL season. The Detroit Red Wings selected Ogrodnick in the 4th round of the 1979 NHL Entry Draft. Ogrodnick began his career with the Wings in 1979-80. In the midst of his 8th year with Detroit, John was dealt to the Quebec Nordiques where he played for just half a season. Ogrodnick next spent 5 years with the New York Rangers, before a final season in 1992-93 with the Red Wings. All told John spent 14-years patrolling the right wing. In 928 games, he tabbed 402 goals and 827 points. His career best season came in 1984-85, when he netted 55 goals and 105 points for Detroit and earned a 1st Team NHL All Star selection in the process. Thanks in part to his four 40+ goal seasons, John played in 5 NHL All Star games.

Affixed to the right shoulder of this gamer is the ever desirable Rendezvous ’87 patch. The game wear on this jersey is solid and consists of numerous stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes and fine inner pilling. The fragile nature of the heat pressed Fleur-de-lis and numbers are evident on this example, mainly on the player number on the sleeves and back. Ogrodnick played a total of 32 games in the regular season and another 13 in the playoffs as a member of the Quebec Nordiques. He lit the lamp 20 times and tallied 40 points during his time in Quebec. Offered here is John’s home gamer, which he wore while patrolling the right wing at Le Colisee during the 2nd half of the 1986-87 season.
