1986-87 Jocelyn Lemieux St. Louis Blues Game Worn Jersey – Rookie - Photo Match
Lot #137

This home white knit gamer by CCM was worn by Jocelyn Lemieux during the 1986-87 NHL season, his rookie year. The St. Louis Blues selected Lemieux in the 1st round of the 1986 NHL Entry Draft. Lemieux, the brother of 4-time Stanley Cup Champion Claude, made his NHL debut as an 18-year old with the St. Louis Blues in 1986-87. He spent a couple of seasons with the Blues and parts of two more with the Montreal Canadiens before finding a home with the Chicago Blackhawks where he played for 5 seasons. Jocelyn later went on to represent the Hartford Whalers, New Jersey Devils, Calgary Flames and the Phoenix Coyotes before wrapping up a 12-year NHL career.

Sewn into the collar of this gamer is the born on date “86-07”. The game wear on this sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, colorful board paint transfer, fight abuse with washed out bloodstains and a stitch popped collar along with fine inner pilling. Shown above is a beautiful photo mach of Lemieux wearing this exact jersey during the 1986-87 season. Jocelyn scored a modest 10 goals and added 94 PIMS in 53 games played while wearing this sweater during his rookie season. A well-worn photo matched rookie sweater that is now more than 30-years removed from the ice.
