Description
1986-87 Jeff Beukeboom Oilers Game Worn Jersey - Rookie - Team Letter
Lot #25

This home white heavy mesh gamer by Nike was worn by Jeff Beukeboom during the 1986-87 NHL season, his rookie year. Beukeboom retired with 4 Stanley Cups in tow, having won his 1st in 1986-87 the year in which he wore this sweater. Jeff spent parts of 7 seasons in Edmonton winning 3 Stanley Cups and parts of 8 more with the Rangers in New York where he was part of the 1994 Cup winning team. In 804 career games, he wound up with nearly 1900 PIMS, serving as both a steady defenseman and protection for Gretzky and his teammates.

The game wear on this sweater is solid as this would have been Jeff’s only home gamer that entire rookie season. Beukeboom averaged about 3 PIMs per game that year and this jersey shows the battle scars to prove it. Fight abuse is evident by viewing the collar which has been grabbed by the opposition numerous times. There is heavy pilling both inside and out to go along with standard stick marks and board burns. Approximately 2 dozen team-sewn repairs exist concentrated mainly on the sleeves with a large sized repair on the rear hem also worthy of mention. Worn by Beukeboom during his rookie season, in the sweet spot of the Oilers dynasty years. This jersey will be accompanied by an Oilers team letter.
