1986-87 Dave Taylor Los Angeles Kings Game Worn Jersey – “20-year Anniversary”
Lot #22
This road purple knit gamer by CCM was worn by Dave Taylor during the 1986-87 NHL season. The Los Angeles Kings selected Taylor in the 15th round of the 1975 NHL Amateur Draft. Following a four-year college career at Clarkson University, Taylor made his NHL debut in 1977-78 with the Kings. During his storied career, this RW played alongside Marcel Dionne and Charlie Simmer to form the fabled Triple Crown Line. Taylor was three times a 40-goal scorer whose career best of 47 goals and 112 points came during the 1980-81 season, a year that earned him 2nd Team NHL All Star honors. Dave was four times an NHL All Star and was the recipient of the 1990-91 Bill Masterton and King Clancy Memorial Trophies. In 1111 career games, Taylor scored 431 goals, 638 assists and 1069 points to go along with 1589 PIMS. At the time of his retirement, Taylor ranked second to only Marcel Dionne in Kings history for goals and points. Taylor proudly served as the LA Kings Team Captain for four years spanning 1985-89 before handing the reigns to Wayne Gretzky. Taylor spent all 17 years of his NHL career with Los Angeles and after retiring became the third player in Kings history to have his number retired.

Proudly sewn to the left breast of this gamer is the Captain’s “C”. Sewn to the left shoulder is the Los Angeles Kings 20-year anniversary patch. Sewn into the collar is the born on date “86-04”. The game wear on this sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, stitch pops, a fight strap that has lost the battle to salt and rust, fine inner pilling and more than a half dozen team-sewn repairs. Taylor wore this magnificent sweater during road games as the Kings celebrated their 20th season as a franchise. It was Dave’s second season serving as Team Captain and he registered 62 points in 67 games to go along with 84 PIMS. A tremendous well-worn photo matched offering complete with the coveted letter of honor and sporting the Kings 20-year anniversary patch, choice!
