Description
1986-87 Chris Cichocki Detroit Red Wings Game Worn Jersey
Lot #121

This road red knit gamer by CCM and Eastside was worn by Chris Cichocki during the 1986-87 NHL season. After playing 3 seasons of college hockey at Michigan Tech, this undrafted Detroit, MI native signed as a free agent with the hometown Detroit Red Wings in the summer of 1985. Cichocki played for the Red Wings for 2 seasons before being traded to the New Jersey Devils in exchange for Mel Bridgman. After a couple of seasons with New Jersey, Cichocki spent the remainder of his 13-year professional career in the AHL and IHL. Following his playing days, Cichocki spent 3 years as an assistant for the Cincinnati Cyclones and then worked for 8 seasons as an ECHL head coach with Arkansas, Cincinnati and Stockton.

Sewn into the collar of this gamer is the born on date tagging that reads “86-04”. The game wear on this sweater is on the lighter side as would be expected and consists stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer and fine inner pilling. A story book tale of this popular Detroit kid that walked right onto his hometown NHL squad and made their roster.
