Description
1986-87 Brent Sutter New York Islanders Game Worn Jersey
Lot #36

This road blue knit gamer by CCM and Syosset Sports was worn by Brent Sutter during the 1986-87 NHL season. The New York Islanders selected Sutter in the 1st round of the 1980 NHL Entry Draft. Sutter made his NHL debut with the Islanders in 1980-81 and played for the Islanders during all but their first Championship season. He earned a pair of Stanley Cup Rings with the Islanders as his youth and feistiness played a key role in the Islanders 3rd and 4th Stanley Cups. Brent assumed the role of Islanders Team Captain when Denis Potvin retired. After 11 seasons on Long Island, Sutter joined the Chicago Blackhawks where he completed his career 7 years later. This 40-Goal man was an NHL All Star who also represented Team Canada in the 1984, 1987 and 1991 Canada Cups!

Proudly sewn to the left breast of this gamer is the alternate Captain’s “A”. The game wear on this sweater is solid and consists of numerous stick and slash marks, heavy butt tape residue, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes and heavy inner pilling. A tremendous hammered example that sports the coveted letter of honor.
