This home white knit gamer by CCM was worn by Bob Sweeney during the 1986-87 NHL season, his rookie year. Sweeney, a native of Boxboro, MA graduated from Boston College in 1986. The Boston Bruins selected Sweeney in the 6th round of the 1982 NHL Entry Draft. He began his NHL career in 1986-87 with the Bruins and played for them for the next 6 seasons. During that time, he made two trips to the Stanley Cup Finals. After leaving the Bruins, Sweeney played another 4 seasons in the NHL, spending three of them with the Buffalo Sabres and a final year with the Islanders and Flames.
The game wear on this rookie sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, familiar board paint transfer from the Boston Garden, inner pilling and a team-sewn repair. A nice vintage example from an era when the Bruins were one of the rulers of the Eastern Conference.
