1985-87 Doug Morrison Salt Lake City Golden Eagles Game Worn Jersey
Lot #313

This home gold mesh gamer by Alpha was worn by Doug Morrison during the 1985-86 and or 1986-87 IHL seasons. The Boston Bruins selected Morrison in the 2nd round of the 1979 NHL Entry Draft. Morrison made his NHL debut in 1979-80 with the Bruins where he played for his entire four-year NHL career. Doug also spent some time in the minors where he represented the AHL’s Erie Blades, Maine Mariners and Hershey Bears as well as the IHL’s Salt Lake Golden Eagles.

The game wear on this size 50 sweater is solid and consists of loads of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, stitch pops, fine inner pilling and a couple of handfuls of team-sewn repairs. This short-lived two-year style marked the return of the club’s original logo and the end of their green and gold color scheme. This sweater also dates to the era of the Golden Eagles first IHL Championship season, as they captured the 1987 Turner Cup Championship in Morrison’s final season. During that Championship season, Morrison partook in 73 regular season games, scoring 48 goals and adding 39 assists for 87 points. He then tallied another 17 points in 17 playoff games on the way to the 1987 Championship.
