This home white mesh gamer by CCM and Steichens was worn by Tony McKegney during the 1985-86 NHL season. The Buffalo Sabres selected McKegney in the 2nd round of the 1978 NHL Amateur Draft. He began his career with the Sabres in 1978-79 and spent 5 seasons roaming the wing at the Aud. He would go on to represent the Nordiques, North Stars, Rangers, Blues, Red Wings and Black Hawks before hanging up his skates. Over a 912 game career, McKegney netted 320 goals and tallied 639 points.
The game wear on this sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, loads of board burns, plenty of green board paint transfer from the old Met, un-repaired burn holes, heavy inner pilling and more than a couple of handfuls of team-sewn repairs. A well-worn example from Tony’s last full season with the North Stars.
