The Detroit Red Wings selected Blaisdell in the 1st round of the 1980 NHL Entry Draft. This Moose Jaw native made his NHL debut in 1980-81 with the Red Wings where he played for three seasons before moving on to represent the New York Rangers, Pittsburgh Penguins and the Toronto Maple Leafs over the course of his 9-year NHL career. Mike also spent a season with the Canadian National Team and then a decade in Europe.
