Description
1985-86 Mark Laforest Detroit Red Wings Game Worn Jersey – Rookie – “60-year Anniversary” – Photo Match
Lot #60
This home white knit gamer by CCM and Eastside was worn by Mark Laforest during the 1985-86 NHL season, his rookie year. This Welland native made his NHL debut in 1985-86 with the Red Wings where he played for two seasons. Mark went on to play for the Philadelphia Flyers, the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Ottawa Senators over the course of his 6-year NHL career. This Goalie also had a lengthy and successful minor-pro career that included a pair of Baz Bastien Awards, which came in 1987 and 1991.

Embroidered to the left shoulder of this gamer is the Detroit Red Wings 60-year anniversary patch. Sewn into the collar is the born on date “85 – 10”. The sleeve cuffs have been opened up to provide more room for this netminder. The game wear on this sweater is solid and consists of stick, slash and puck marks, washed out bloodstains, cuff pilling, inner pilling and several team-sewn repairs. Shown above is a beautiful photo match of Laforest wearing this exact jersey during the 1985-86 season. A beautiful patched and photo matched offering from this Goalie’s rookie season.
