Lot #11
GAMEWORNAUCTIONS.NET is pleased to present this jersey from the personal collection of Gaetan Lefebvre. Mr. Lefebvre personally obtained this jersey while working for the Montreal Canadiens. He served in the role of Assistant Trainer, Assistant Athletic Therapist and eventually became the Canadiens longtime Head Therapist. Mr. Lefebvre was a member of the Canadiens for their 1986 and 1993 Stanley Cup Championships. Mr. Lefebvre was also a member of Team Canada during the 1981, 1984 and 1987 Canada Cups where he served as their Trainer.

This road red knit gamer by CCM was worn by Mario Tremblay during the 1985-86 NHL season. The Montreal Canadiens selected Tremblay in the 1st round of the 1974 NHL Amateur Draft. This Alma native made his NHL debut in 1974-75 with Montreal where he played his entire 12-year NHL career. During his 852-game career, this RW notched four 30-Goal seasons and finished with 258 career Goals. Mario was a tough customer as evidenced by his 1043 regular season PIMS. In 101 post-season games, Tremblay added 20 Goals and 187 PIMS including some memorable footage from the Good Friday Massacre. Most important of all was the part he played in the late 1970’s Canadiens Dynasty as they captured four consecutive Stanley Cups.

Proudly sewn to the left breast of this gamer is the alternate Captain’s “A”. Sewn into the collar is the born-on tag dated “84-10”. The game wear on this size 50 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, material pulls, stitch pops, fine inner pilling and more than a dozen team-sewn repairs. Shown above is a beautiful photo match of Tremblay wearing this exact jersey during the 1985-86 Championship season, the first Cup of the Patrick Roy era in Montreal and the last year of Mario’s career. On the inside crest is a beautiful blue sharpie signature in Tremblay’s own hand, images taken at the signing provided above. Well-worn photo matched example, complete with the coveted letter of honor and hailing from the Canadiens 1985-86 Stanley Cup Championship season and marking the last jersey of Tremblay’s memorable career. This fresh to the hobby offering comes to you directly from the personal collection of former Montreal Canadiens and Team Canada member, Gaetan Lefebvre. This jersey will be accompanied by a Mario Tremblay letter.
