1985-86 Kelly Kisio Detroit Red Wings Game Worn Jersey - "60-year Anniversary"
Lot #51
This road red knit gamer by CCM and Eastside was worn by Kelly Kisio during the 1985-86 NHL season. Kelly began his NHL career in 1982-83 with the Detroit Red Wings, where he played for 4 seasons before joining the New York Rangers in 1986-87. Kisio remained with the Rangers thru the 1990-91 season and went on to serve as their Team Captain from 1987-88 thru the end of his tenure in 1990-91. Kisio spent the remainder of his career playing 2 years each in San Jose and then Calgary. Kelly netted 20+ goals in each of his first 7 full seasons in the league, and 8 times in all. He twice scored 78 points, a career best, doing so once each with the Rangers and Flames. Most recently Kelly had been seen behind the bench as Head Coach of the Calgary Hitmen, a title he held for 4 years from 2004-05 thru 2007-08. In 761 games played this 5’ 9” pepper pot scored 229 goals and added 429 helpers for a total of 658 points.

Embroidered to the left shoulder of this gamer is the Detroit Red Wings 60-year anniversary patch. The game wear on this sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, stitch pops, gobs of inner pilling, a fight strap that has lost the battle to salt and rust and several team-sewn repairs. A terrific well-worn patched example that should please any Red Wings fan.
