Description
1985-86 Jon Casey Minnesota North Stars Game Worn Jersey Rookie
Lot #47
This road green mesh gamer by CCM and Steichens was worn by Jon Casey during the 1985-86 NHL season, his official rookie year. After graduating from the University of North Dakota, this Grand Rapids, MN native began his NHL career as an undrafted goalie with the Minnesota North Stars. Casey would spend 8 seasons representing his hometown team before joining the Boston Bruins in 1993-94. During his time with Minnesota, Casey assumed the number 1 role between the pipes in the late 1980’s and didn’t relinquish it from that point forward. Casey led his upstart team to the Stanley Cup Finals in 1990-91 before succumbing to the Lemieux led Penguins. After a lone season with the Bruins, Casey joined the St. Louis Blues where he spent the final 3 years of his NHL career. In addition to numerous college and AHL accolades, Casey was an NHL All Star in his final season in Minnesota, 1992-93.

The game wear on this size 54 sweater consists of stick and puck marks, burns, goal post paint transfer and inner pilling. Also worthy of mention is a plate change on the verso. A nice rookie sweater of the local kid who manned the pipes in the Twin Cities for 8 seasons.
