This road blue knit gamer by CCM was worn by John Anderson during the 1985-86 NHL season. The Toronto Maple Leafs selected Anderson in the 1st round of the 1977 NHL Amateur Draft. After spending 8 years in Toronto, Anderson spent a partial season with the Nordiques before finishing up his NHL career with the Hartford Whalers, where he played for parts of 4 years. Anderson was a 5-time 30 Goal scorer who tallied a career best of 37 in 1983-84 with the Maple Leafs. Since leaving his playing days behind, Anderson took up coaching and was the Head Coach for the Atlanta Thrashers for a coupe of seasons and is presently behind the Minnesota Wild bench. He is perhaps best known for being the wildly successful Head Coach of the Chicago Wolves where he has guided them to 5 Championships!
Sewn to the right shoulder of this gamer is the Rendezvous ’87 patch. There is an outline of the same patch on the left shoulder. The game wear on this sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, stitch pops and heavy inner pilling. The condition of this sweater is better than most that survived the heat pressed era with only light cracking and loss worthy of mention. A nice vintage patched example of this 5-time 30-Goal man and highly successful former coach of the Chicago Wolves who is now coaching the Minnesota Wild.
