Description
1985-86 Gord Kluzak Boston Bruins Game Worn Jersey
Lot #406

This road black knit gamer by CCM was worn by Gord Kluzak during the 1985-86 NHL season. The Boston Bruins selected Kluzak 1st overall in the 1982 NHL Entry Draft. What looked to be a surefire superstar career was sadly cut short due to severe knee injuries. Gord was adept both offensively and defensively and was known as a fierce hitter who wasn’t afraid to mix things up as evidenced by his 543 PIMS in 299 career games, totaling triple digits in each of his 4 full years. His career was limited to only 4 full seasons, between which he missed two complete years. Kluzak played a key role in the Bruins run to the Stanley Cup Finals in 1988. He scored 4 goals and added 8 helpers for 12 points and racked up 59 PIMS during 23 post-season contests that year. In a valiant attempt to comeback from his injuries, Kluzak was awarded the 1989-90 Bill Masterton Trophy.

This jersey comes directly from the recently discovered Gunzo's collection. Sewn into the collar of this gamer is the born on date of 86-01. The game wear, while on the lighter side, does exhibit stick marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, a fight strap with its fair share of salt and rust as well as some nice inner pilling. Kluzak gamers have proven difficult to obtain through the years, thanks in large part to his injury-shortened career. An exciting new discovery brings this previously unknown gamer to the hobby, good luck in your pursuit.
