GAMEWORNAUCTIONS.NET is pleased to bring this exciting collection of game worn enforcers, tough guys and instigators to the hobby exclusively thru our Fall 2018 Auction. These 11 NHL and minor league game worn jerseys have been held in a private collection since being purchased beginning nearly 20 years ago and have been out of hobby circulation ever since. Included in this group of legendary tough guys are some extremely difficult to find players and styles, most which are being offered at auction for the first time!

This road maroon knit gamer by CCM was worn by Don Nachbaur during the 1985-86 AHL season. The Hartford Whalers selected Nachbaur in the 3rd round of the 1979 NHL Entry Draft. After spending a season with Hartford’s AHL affiliate in 1979-80, Nachbaur made his NHL debut with the Whalers in 1980-81. Don spent 8 seasons in the NHL, playing for Hartford, Edmonton and Philadelphia and racking up 465 PIMS in 223 games played. In between, this enforcer made his presence felt in the AHL where he spent 9 years playing for Springfield, Moncton, New Haven and Hershey. In 469 AHL games played, Nachbaur amassed 1452 PIMS, including a single season best 301 PIMS in 1985-86 with Hershey!

Proudly sewn to the left breast of this gamer is the Captain’s “C”. Sewn just above is the “31” to commemorate the death of Philadelphia Flyers All Star Goalie Pelle Lindbergh. Sewn to the rear hem is the AHL’s 50-year anniversary patch. The game wear on this sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, fight abuse, a torn and repaired rear collar, washed out bloodstains, fine inner pilling and more than a dozen team-sewn repairs. On the lower verso is a beautiful black sharpie personalized signature in Nachbaur’s own hand. Nachbaur shined during the regular season and playoffs in 1985-86 with Hershey, netting 23 goals and 47 points during the regular season to go along with a career best 301 PIMS! Don then partook in 18 playoff games, adding 5 more goals and 9 points with another 70 PIMS! A terrific example that had been long removed from hobby circulation, featuring terrific game use, the coveted letter of honor, Pelle’s “31” and the AHL’s 50-year anniversary patch.
