This blue knit gamer by CCM was worn by Scott Bjugstad during the 1984 Canada Cup Pre-Tournament. The Minnesota North Stars selected Bjugstad in the 9th round of the 1981 NHL Entry Draft. This St. Paul, MN native played his college hockey at the University of Minnesota before playing a season with the US National Team in 1983-84. Scott competed in the 1984 Olympics and was one of the last cuts for the 1984 Canada Cup roster. Bjugstad made his NHL debut in 1983-84 with the North Stars where he played for five seasons. Scott went on to represent the Penguins and the Kings before wrapping up his 9-year NHL career. Bjugstad scored a career best 43 goals and 76 points in 1985-86 with the North Stars.
The game wear on this sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, stitch pops and inner pilling. Bjugstad competed in the exhibition round of the 1984 Canada Cup and was one of the final cuts made to the roster by Head Coach Bob Johnson in late August. A nice vintage Canada Cup example worn by this 40-goal scorer and U.S. Olympian.
