1984 Bob Mason Team USA Pre-Olympic Game Worn Jersey
Lot #65

This white mesh gamer by Pedersons was worn by Bob Mason while skating for Team USA during the 1984 Pre-Olympic schedule. After playing his college hockey at the University of Minnesota-Duluth where he was named WCHA Player of the Year in 1982-83, this International Falls, MN native played for the 1984 U.S. Olympic Team. Later that year Mason made his NHL debut with the Washington Capitals where he stood between the pipes for five years in what was an 8-year NHL career. Mason also tended Goal for the Chicago Blackhawks, Quebec Nordiques and Vancouver Canucks. In between NHL stops, Mason spent time in both the IHL and AHL. Bob has spent the past 15 years working for the Minnesota Wild as their Goalie Coach.

The game wear on this size XXL sweater consists of stick and puck marks, goal post paint transfer and inner pilling. Team USA partook in a 60+ game pre-Olympic schedule in 1984, playing a dozen of those games at the Met in Minnesota. Mason wore this sweater during that time as Team USA prepared for the 1984 Olympics in Sarajevo. He went an impressive 17-10-5 between the pipes for Team USA in preparation for Sarajevo and then went 1-0-1 in three Olympic Games for the Americans. A beautiful example that should appeal to the USA and Goalie collector alike.
