This home white heavy mesh gamer by CCM and Cosby was likely worn by Ken Daneyko during the 1984-85 and or the 1985-86 NHL season. The New Jersey Devils selected Daneyko in the 1st round of the 1982 NHL Entry Draft. Kenny made his NHL debut with the New Jersey in 1983-84 and spent his entire 20-year career in a Devils uniform. Over the course of 1283 games played, Daneyko amassed 2516 PIMS and won 3 Stanley Cups. He was the recipient of the 1999-00 Bill Masterton Trophy for the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey. In the ultimate form of respect and honor, Ken’s player number 3 was raised to the rafters in New Jersey in 2006 never to be worn again.
This early career sweater likely appeared in a random regular season game in 1984-85 and or early 1985-86 while also possibly having seen pre-season action. As would be expected this gamer shows light use, has a double old school style fight strap affixed to the inside and features a beautiful black sharpie signature in Daneyko’s own hand on the inside of the crest.
