This white air-knit jersey by Reebok was worn by Wayne Gretzky during the celebration for the 1984-85 Edmonton Oilers being named the Centennial’s Greatest Team. Gretzky made his debut in 1978-79 in the WHA where he played for the Indianapolis Racers and Edmonton Oilers. Following the merger with the NHL, Gretzky made his NHL debut in 1979-80 with the Oilers where he would star for 9 seasons. During that time, The Great One shattered long held records left and right and helped his team to four Stanley Cup victories. Wayne was then dealt to the Los Angeles Kings where he played for 8 seasons and led them to their first-ever trip to the Stanley Cup Finals. Following a brief stay with the St. Louis Blues, Gretzky wrapped up his career following three years with the New York Rangers. All told, Wayne spent 20 seasons in the NHL, earning the title as one of the greatest to ever lace up a pair of skates.

Firmly entrenched in the record books are his single season records for goals 92, assists 163 and points 215. Wayne is the all-time leading scorer in NHL history, leading all three categories with 894 goals, 1963 assists and 2857 points. He holds the same playoff records with 122 goals, 260 assists and 382 points. In addition to the four Stanley Cups, Gretzky owns five Lady Byng Trophies, one Lester Patrick Trophy, five Ted Lindsay Awards, 10 Art Ross Trophies, two Conn Smythe Trophies and 9 Hart Memorial Trophies. Gretzky played in 18 NHL All Star Games and was named 1st or 2nd Team NHL All Star a record 15 times. Internationally, Wayne represented Team Canada in four Canada Cups, the World Cup and the Olympics. Immediately upon his retirement, the normal waiting period having been waived, Gretzky was unanimously elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame.

Proudly sewn to the left breast of this jersey is the Captain’s “C”. Sewn to the right breast is the 1984-85 Greatest Team Centennial Stanley Cup patch. Sewn to the back collar is the Edmonton Oilers Greatest Team Centennial patch. Sewn to the left sleeve is the “Once an Oiler, Always an Oiler” patch. This size XL sweater has been beautifully autographed in silver sharpie on the back player number by Wayne Gretzky. The official Oilers hologram is affixed below. Shown above is a beautiful photo of Gretzky wearing this exact jersey while holding the Stanley Cup in celebration of the 1984-85 Edmonton Oilers being named the Centennial’s Greatest Team Centennial’s.
