1984-85 Tim Kerr Philadelphia Flyers Game Worn Jersey - 54-Goal Season - Career Best 98-Point Season - NHL Leading 21 Power Play Goals
Lot #14

This home white mesh gamer by Eagle was worn by Tim Kerr during the 1984-85 NHL season. Kerr was an undrafted winger who made his NHL debut in 1980-81 with the Philadelphia Flyers. He would spend his next 11 seasons with the Flyers before finishing his career with one-year stints in New York and Hartford. This Bill Masterton Trophy winner played in a mere 655 games due largely to back injuries suffered during his NHL career but scored a most impressive 370 goals. In a four-year period, spanning 1983-84 through 1986-87, Kerr posted goal totals of 54, 54, 58 and 58! After playing merely 8 games in 1987-88, Tim rebounded with a 48-goal performance during his injury shortened 69-game 1988-89 season. Kerr, who owns one of the highest goals per game ratios in NHL history, was a 2nd Team NHL All Star in 1987 and played in three NHL All Star games during his prolific career. Kerr, who was deadly from the slot, led the NHL in power play goals for three consecutive seasons spanning 1984-85 thru 1986-87 and then finished runner up in 1988-89.

The game wear on this size 56 sweater consists of a good many stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, stitch pops and inner pilling. The 1984-85 season saw the Flyers, under the guidance of Mike Keenan, the goaltending of Pelle Lindbergh and the scoring of Tim Kerr march all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals. Leading the way was Kerr who scored a career best 98 points on the strength of 54 goals during the regular season. Kerr’s 21 Power Play Goals led the entire NHL, while his 54 Goals were good for 3rd best in the league. This hulking winger followed that up with 10 goals in 12 playoff games as the Flyers fell just shy of Lord Stanley’s Cup. A terrific offering from one of the Flyers all-time greats that was worn during one of the more exciting seasons in Philadelphia Flyers franchise history.
