Description
1984-85 Paul MacLean Winnipeg Jets Game Worn Jersey - Career best 41-Goal, 60 Assist & 101-Point Season - All Star Season
Lot #85

This home white mesh gamer by CCM was worn by Paul MacLean during the 1984-85 NHL season. The St. Louis Blues selected MacLean in the 7th round of the 1978 NHL Amateur Draft. Although born in France, MacLean became a Canadian and began his career playing for the 1979-80 Canadaian National Team and in the 1980 Olympics. MacLean made his NHL debut with the Blues and played in just 1 game for the team that drafted him following the Olympics at Lake Placid. MacLean was dealt to the Winnipeg Jets in the summer of 1981 and he spent the next 7 seasons delighting the hometown fans in Winnipeg. He would go on to play a season in Detroit and 2 more with the Blues before retiring in 1991. MacLean went on to a successful coaching career following his playing days and captured the Jack Adams Award as NHL Coach of the Year in 2012-13. During his playing days, MacLean scored 30 or more goals in every full or near full season that he played. He hit the 40 goal mark 3 different times and in 1984-85 set career bests with 41 goals, 60 assists and 101 points, earning himself a spot in the NHL All Star Game. In 719 games played, MacLean lit the lamp 324 times and added 673 points to go along with a feisty 968 PIMS.

The game wear on this sweater is solid and consists of numerous stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, material pulls, inner pilling and fight abuse with stitch popping and team-sewn repair work to the upper verso. This well-worn gamer hails from MacLean’s career best All Star season and would become an instant cornerstone in any Winnipeg Jets collection.
