1984-85 Marc Behrend Winnipeg Jets Game Worn Jersey
Lot #57
This home white mesh gamer by CCM was worn by Marc Behrend during the 1984-85 NHL season. The Winnipeg Jets selected Behrend in the 5th round of the 1981 NHL Entry Draft. Behrend is a native of Madison, WI and he attended school at his hometown college, the University of Wisconsin. During his collegiate years, Behrend became an NCAA legend as he led the Badgers to two National Championships and became only the second player in NCAA history to be named outstanding player of the tournament twice. After leaving college, Behrend tended goal for the US Olympic Team and was between the pipes at Sarajevo in the Winter Games of 1984. Marc then spent 3 seasons in the NHL, all with the Winnipeg Jets before announcing his retirement.

This sweater has had custom inserts added into the body to provide a more roomy fit for the 6’ 1” goalie. Sewn into the collar of this gamer is the born on date that reads 85 – 01. The game wear on this sweater consists of stick and puck marks, stitch pops and un-repaired holes, crossbar paint transfer and areas of fine pilling. A tough to find example that was worn by this former NCAA legend and US Olympic goalie.
