This home white knit gamer by CCM was worn by Ken Leiter during the 1984-85 AHL season. The New York Islanders selected Leiter in the 5th round of the 1980 NHL Entry Draft. This Detroit native played his college hockey at Michigan State University before spending time with the 1984 U.S. Olympic Team. Leiter made his NHL debut in 1984-85 with the Islanders where he played for four seasons and famously went on to assist on Pat LaFontaine’s 4-OT series winner on Easter before spending one final year with the Minnesota North Stars.
The game wear on this sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, heavy inner pilling and several team-sewn repairs. A well-worn example by this former defenseman who set up Pat LaFontaine’s Easter Epic 4-OT series winner in the 1987 Stanley Cup playoffs. This jersey will be accompanied by a Indians team letter.
