Description
1984-85 Keith Crowder Boston Bruins Game Worn Jersey - Photo Match
Lot #74

This road black mesh gamer by CCM was worn by Keith Crowder during the 1984-85 NHL season. The Boston Bruins selected Crowder in the 3rd round of the 1979 NHL Entry Draft. This power forward made his professional debut in the WHA with the Birmingham Bulls in 1978-79, two seasons prior to the start of his NHL career. Crowder joined the Boston Bruins in 1980-81 and he remained on the Right Wing at Boston Gardens for the next 9 seasons, prior to spending one final year in Los Angeles. Crowder emerged into one of the games best power forwards as he put up three 30+ Goal seasons including a career best 38 Goals in 1985-86. As a rookie, Crowder made his presence felt by amassing 172 PIMS in just 47 games played! Over the course of his career, Crowder compiled 1344 PIMS in just 662 games played. Keith also had the good fortune to share the NHL ice in Boston with his brother Bruce from 1981-84.

The game wear on this size 52 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, loads of inner pilling and in excess of 30 team-sewn repairs. Fight abuse is readily evident with a stitch popped, pilled and repaired collar, a torn and subsequently repaired rear collar, stitch breaks and reinforcement of the wrist and a custom fight strap. Shown above are a couple of beautiful photo matches of Crowder wearing this exact jersey during the 1984-85 season. Crowder struck for 32 Goals, 70 Points, went a career best +31 and added 142 PIMS while wearing this sweater during road games in 1984-85. Keith’s Boston jerseys have traditionally been an extremely tough get for collectors. This is the first time we can recall seeing one of Crowder’s Bruins gamers offered at Auction. A spectacular hammered photo matched example from the prime of this power forwards all too brief NHL career.
