Description
1984-85 John Ogrodnick Detroit Red Wings Game Worn Jersey - 55-Goal & 105-Point Season - 1st Team NHL All Star
Lot #50

This home white mesh gamer by CCM was worn by John Ogrodnick during the 1984-85 NHL season. The Detroit Red Wings selected Ogrodnick in the 4th round of the 1979 NHL Entry Draft. Ogrodnick began his career with the Wings in 1979-80. In the midst of his 8th year with Detroit, John was dealt to the Quebec Nordiques where he played for just half a season. Ogrodnick next spent 5 years with the New York Rangers before a final season in 1992-93 with the Red Wings. All told John spent 14 years patrolling the right wing. In 928 games, he tabbed 402 goals and 827 points. His career best season came in 1984-85 when he netted 55 goals and 105 points for Detroit and earned a 1st Team NHL All Star selection in the process. Thanks in part to his four 40+ goal seasons, John played in 5 NHL All Star games in representation of Detroit spanning 1981-86.

The body of this gamer has been custom shortened at the hem for Ogrodnick. The game wear on this vintage sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, inner pilling and a team-sewn repair. Ogrodnick wore this gamer during his finest season as he netted career bests in Goals-55, Assists-50 and Points-105, earning himself a spot in the NHL All Star Game and a 1st Team NHL All Star selection. A wonderful vintage offering from this 400-Goal scorer’s finest season.
