1984-85 Jim Fox Los Angeles Kings Game Worn Jersey
Lot #51
This home gold knit gamer by CCM and Adidas was worn by Jim Fox during the 1984-85 NHL season. The Los Angeles Kings selected Fox with he 10th overall pick in the 1980 NHL Entry Draft. Fox began his career with the Kings in 1980-81 and there he remained throughout his entire 9 year NHL career. Fox remains in the top-10 on the Kings all-time scoring list with 478 points in 578 games. Fox is the highly recognized long time LA Kings television color commentator who sits alongside Bob Miller in the booth. He was inducted into the Southern California Sports Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2016. Jim also played himself in the movie “Mystery, Alaska”.

Sewn into the collar of this gamer is the born on date ‘85-04’. The game wear on this sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, material pulls, stitch pops, fine inner pilling and several team-sewn repairs. The original fight strap was removed and replaced with a heavy duty DOT strap by the team. The Adidas logo is embroidered to the rear hem and marks a short-lived era in Kings purple and gold history. Fox registered his last of three 30-goal seasons while wearing this very sweater. Jim enjoyed his most productive season in 1984-85, as he struck for 30 Goals and 53 Assists for 83 Points. Jim, along with Marcel Dionne, Bernie Nicholls, Dave Taylor and Brian MacLellan, were one of a team-record five Kings to score at least 30 goals that season. A well-worn purple and gold offering of this beloved lifelong King.
