This road blue knit gamer by CCM was worn by Gates Orlando during the 1984-85 NHL season. The Buffalo Sabres selected Orlando in the 8th round of the 1981 NHL Entry Draft. After playing 4 years of college hockey and graduating from Providence College in 1984, Orlando made his NHL debut with the Sabres in 1984-85. This Montreal born winger spent just 3 seasons in the NHL, all of them with the Sabres. Orlando spent more than a decade in Europe following his NHL days playing in the Italy-A and Swiss-A leagues. Gates put forth an epic 1989-90 season while playing for Bolzano HC, scoring 72 goals and 144 points in 42 games! Orlando was one of Europe’s true superstars.
The game wear on this size 50 sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes and inner pilling. Orlando played in 11 regular season games as a rookie after being called up from Rochester, scoring 3 goals and 6 assists for 9 points. He then added 4 assists in 5 playoff games later that spring. To date, the only Orlando gamer we've had the pleasure of handling.
