1984-85 Bob Sauve Sabres Game Worn Jersey
Lot #61

This road blue knit gamer by CCM was worn by goaltender Bob Sauve during the 1984-85 NHL season. Sauve was the Sabres 1st round selection in the 1975 NHL entry draft. He spent his first 6 seasons with the club before an in-season deal sent him briefly to Detroit.

Bob returned the next season to play for the blue and gold and would do so for another 3 more seasons, totaling 9 in all. His final stops were in Chicago and New Jersey at the end of his career. Sauve earned the Vezina Trophy as leagues best netminder along with his partner Don Edwards during the 1979-80 campaign. He would later team with another young Sabres goaltender, Tom Barrasso, to win the 1985 Jennings Trophy.

Sewn in the collar is the born on year tagging. The game wear on this sweater is typical for that of a goalie with some stick and puck marks as well as some pilling. Nice jersey worn during his last season with the Sabres.
