1984-85 Bob Bourne New York Islanders Game Worn Jersey
Lot #52

This road blue mesh gamer by Pederson’s was worn by Bob Bourne during the 1984-85 NHL season. The KC Scouts selected Bourne in the 3rd round of the 1974 NHL Amateur Draft. A trade sent Bourne to the Islanders where he began his NHL career as a rookie in 1974-75. It was an important season in franchise history as the Islanders surged to game 7 of the Semi Finals where they lost on Spectrum ice to the defending Stanley Cup champion Flyers. Bobby would become an integral part of the team’s nucleus that would go onto dynasty status in the years to come. Bourne remained an Islander for a dozen seasons and won 4 Stanley Cups before joining the Kings for 2 more years prior to announcing his retirement. Bobby was 3-times a 30-goal scorer for New York, although his biggest contributions were felt in the playoffs during the dynasty years. During the four consecutive Stanley Cup wining seasons in the 1980’s, Bourne averaged a point per game, scoring 74 points in 74 games including many clutch goals. Despite being one of the taller players in the league, Bourne possessed lightning fast speed and he used it to perfection as one of the NHL’s best penalty killers, a constant breakaway threat and a tremendous defensive forward. Bobby represented Team Canada in the Canada Cup and was also an NHL All Star.

The game wear on this size XL sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes and trauma, inner pilling and some fantastic team-sewn repairs that includes a major gash to the belly, a multi-colored sew job to the elbow, more repair work to the stitch popped and stretched collar and finally some interior repair work beneath the plate where the Islanders performed some alterations. Also worthy of mention is the fight strap, which has been customized by the team for Bourne. Bobby was one of the small group of Islanders that went to 5 consecutive Stanley Cup Finals and walked away with 4 Championships and will forever be remembered as an integral part of their Dynasty.
